GOVERNMENT TROOPS REPULSED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. New York, December 4. Troops have been dispatched from Chihuahua to subdue the insurgents, who have taken refuge in the mountains. The peace envoys are believed to be carrying an ultimatum instead of an olive branch. It has just been disclosed that the Government troops were defeated on Tuesday last at San Andres. The revolutionists holding the village drove off the Governmentals. The United States refuses haven to Francisco Madero, the Mexican revolutionary leader.
