IMPERIAL APPRECIATION
OF SAILOR HEROES. By Cable,—Press Association.—Copyright Vienna, December 4. The Emperor bestowed a gold watch, with the Imperial initials in diamonds, on Captain Matthews, of the Lowther Grange, binoculars adorned with the Emperor's signature on Captain Andrews of the tug Dievan, while the first officer and six seamen of the Lowther Grange received monetary awards. The widow of the engineer killed was awarded 10,000 kronen. Admiral Slade and the Governor of Aden were specially thanked. The Lowther Graage succeeded, despite hurricane conditions and several failures, in towing a disabled Austrian vessel to port.
