AMUSEMENTS.

CALEDONIAN ENTERTAINERS. The Caledonian Entertainers, headed by Mr' Jock Willis, are to play in New Plymouth on Wednesday evening next. Referring to the company, a southern paper says:—The company provided an entertainment that proved thoroughly enjoyable, and it carried a varied programme through with apparent ease. J The songs beloved of the Scot predominated, and the concerted work, including iinany well-known Scottish songs, was a very attractive feature. The hall was prettily arranged, and the skirl of the pipes, national dances and the seductive kilt added much to the success of the concert. Mr. Jock Willis proved quite a host in himself, his humorous songs and stories being given with clever artistry, while into such numbers as "The Deathless Army" he infused enough pathos to show that his powers were not confined to comic work. "Fu' the Noo' was among the best ot Mr. Willis' comic numbers. Mr. Colin Cameron, a tenor singer, proved to be the possessor of a sweet voice, and his sympathetic singing of "Afton Water," "Loch Lomond," and other Scottish ballads earned him hearty and well-de-served applause. Mr.' Cameron also proved a tower of strength in the concerted numbers. Miss D. M'Clatchie, a most diminutive young person, danced a Highland fling in a praiseworthy manner, and Messrs. T. Jaffray and A. Sutherland gave a double sword-dance cleverly, beside* giving neat solo dances. .Miss Kathleen (VKeefe sang several ballads pleasingly, and Mr. R. Denton sang "To-morrow will be Friday," and, with Mr. Cameron, the duet' "Excelsior." Miss C. O'Kcefe was encored for her singing of "Jessie's Dream" and "My Ain Folk." Of the concerted numbers "Will Ye No Come Rack Again?" by Messrs. Willis. Cameron and Denton, anil "Follow Me. , Girls," by the company, wore especially good.
