The I'resbvterian General Assembly discussed Bible-reading in State schools this morning. The merits of the New South Wales and Nelson svstems were, debated at great length. The committee adopted a report on the subject and expressed gratitude the Nelson system was being adopted by an increasing number of ministers and Christian workers who are urging ministers and elders to co-operate with all who wish the Education Act so amended as to include the reading of simple portions of the Scripture at the opening of the school.
