Tolstoi has been discovered in the Sehamardinsky monastery, in the province of Kaluga. " MONEY, THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL." Received 14, 11.45 p.m. St. Petersburg, November 13. It is understood that his refusal to accept the Nobel Prize, and his renunciation of Royalties, including an offer of £IOO,OOO for the rights of all his books, caused the estrangement of Tolstoi with his family. The peasants regard his retirement as a belated repentance of the Orthodox Church's bitterest foe.
