PARLIAMENT

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. The House met at 10 a.m. The following local Bills were read a third time:—Nelson City Drainage Loan and Empowering, Templeton Domain (alteration of boundaries), Wanganui Harbor Board Vesting. The House went into commiteee, on the motion of Mr. Guinness, and the Greymouth Harbor Board Loans Consolidation Bill was amended by increasing the amount of loan moneys that may be raised under the Act from £350.000 to £400.000. The Bill was reported with amendments.

The following Bills were reported with amendments: Wyndham Showground Reserve, Invercargiil Tramway Buildings and Works Site, Thames Harbor Board Empowering, Waitara Harbor Board and ■Boroush Empowering, Waikonaiti County Council Reserve Vesting, Selwyn County Subdivision, Borough of Hastings. Electric Power and Loan Empowering, llorowheuua County Loan, Lyttelton Harbor Board Reclamation and Empowering, New Plymouth Recreation and Racecourse Reserve Leasing Amendment, IVaiapu County Council (Tokomaru) Harbor Empowering, Havelock Harbor Hoard Amendment. Woodville Borough Drainage Empowering. The Bills mentioned were read a third time and passed.

The House went into committee on the Ota no Harbor Board Lands Vesting Bill.

An amendment was added providing that any dispute over stovm water shali be referred to arbitration, and the Bill was parsed. The Public Service Superannuation Bill was introduced by Governor's Message. The Premier explained that it limited the superannuation allowance to £3OO a year, and provided for the admission of University professors on certain conditions.

Mr. Taylor (Christclmrch) expressed objection to the inclusion of the latter, and entered a plea for some Government employees, such as librarians.

At 12.30 p.m. the House adjourned til 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
