THE STATE ASSEMBLIES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Adelaide, November 'rl. In the Assembly the Taxation Bill passed all stages. The new Education Bill provides for high and primary school and continuation classes. In primary schools the age for compulsory attendance has been raised to fourteen. v Perth, November 12. The Health Bill as amended by the Assembly provides that anyone publishing or causing to be published any false statements regarding the ingredients of a patent medicine is guilty of an offence, and a newspaper is held liable if it publishes advertisements of such medicines after warning from the principal medical officer. The penalty for adulteration of food or drugs is £SO for the first offence and six months' imprisonment for the second.

Melbourne, November 12. The House of Representatives passed the second reading of the Anti-Trust Amendment Bill and passed the standing stages. LOCAL OPTION THROWN OUT. Hobart, November 12. The Assembly threw out the Local Option Bill.
