OBJECT OF THE PRINCE'S JOURNEY, j The German nation has followed with lively interest the course of the preparation *of the Crown Prince for his Imperial duties—a course which has included a term as a civil servant in a Government office, followed bv a period as a commanding oflieer in a garrison town. Ihe object of the Prince's journey to India, China and Japan is the acquirement of I first-hand knowledge of the problems of the East and of the administration ot the German dependency of Kiaochow. The Ta-diche Rundscliau says that the Prince will visit those parts of the world '-where probably the most important national developments of the future may be expected, where German treaty possessions are being pushed forward, where Herman trade has Jong been making its wav industriously and tenaciously, and where the gigantic vessels of our steamship lines bear the German flag, lo send him there was a fortunate thought which was conceived by the Imperial father and founder of our mighty fleet and the apostle of our Imperial policy, -he son of all Germany will be accomnied with good wishes.'
