FIRES
TEA ROOMS DESTROYED. By Telegraph.— Association. Wellington, Last Night. A large residence at Mason's Gardens, Taita, built sijme forty years ago, was destroyed by fire to-night. The building was o.wned by R. Keene, of Wellington, and occupied by two, named Harm and Gelding, who, ran the place as tea rooms. Harris had his effects insured for £2OO, and Gelding his for £75 in the South British. Keene's insurances are not yet ascertainable..
AN BOARDINGHOUSE Eltham, Wednesday.
i A fire occurred at 2 a.m. in a two,-, storey building occupied by Mrs. Wishaw as tea-rooms and boardinghoase. The night was calm, and the brigade confined the fire 4 >j the. rear portion of the premises, which were gutted, the other portions being damaged by smoke and water. The building, which is owned b.y a Stratford resident, is insured for £SOO and the furniture for £l5O in the Royal Assurance office. The damage is estimated at £l5O.
