Vesuvius causing torrents of water and mud to descend on Torre-del-Greco, the town at its foot, a short distance from Naples. Two families were buried. Five bodies have been recovered. Several places in the Salerno district also suffered and railway lines were injured and telegraph wires broken. HURRICANE FLOODS OF MUD AND BOULDERS. Received 25, 10.10 p.m. Naples, October 25. The floods invaded Cetara, a fishing village, killing twelve. Hurricane floods of mud and boulders following the cloud burst played havoc in Casamieciola and Ischia. A dozen were killed. There were other victims on the slopes of Montenicola, and the population of Baccoamcnto is homeless. Many were drowned.
