SCHOOL CHILDREN'S TEETH

RESEARCH WORK FACILITATED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. At a meeting of the Education Board to-day, a letter was received from Professor Pickerill, Director of the Dental School, who stated he was carrying on research work on the subject of the prevention of dental decay, especially in school children, and who asked for permission to send out at least 1000 circulars to headmasters of various schools in the district with the request that if possible they might all be filled in on the same day by the scholars. Some of the questions which Dr. Pickerill proposed for answers of children were: What did you have to eat and drink yesterday for the following meals —breakfast, dinner, tea and the last thing at night? Did you eat any fruit yesterday? How many sweets did you eat yesterday? Which do you like best, fruit or sweets? After discussion, the request was granted by five votes to four.
