A CHARGE OF BIGAMY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. William Watkins, a young man, was committed for trial on a charge of bigamy. He is alleged to have been married in London in 1907 and in Wellington in September last. In his statement to the police Watkins said that he had heard his first wife was dead, but he admitted thai lie took no steps to ascertain definitely whether she was dead.
