A nurse named Ingles, who was arrested at Birmingham in June for kidnapping and deserting her employer's child, and stealing jewellery, has been sentenced to three years' imprisonment. THEFT OF SACCHARINE. London, October 18. Four men. have been given sentences from three months' to three years' imprisonment for theft of saccharine at Southwark. EXPLOSION IN A MINE.
Berlin, October 18. An explosion of dynamite set fire to the Siegfried Mine at Giessen, in Hesse, and fifteen were killed. A STEAMER LOST. Berlin, October IS. The Hamburg steamer Staleria foundered off Revee, in the Baltic, and the crew of sixteen were drowned.
