ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
GISBORNE ACCIDENTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Wednesday. Yesterday a youn« married man named Watts, employed at Phaiahi station, gashed Jus foot badly with an axe, and while he was being brought into town for medical assistance the horse in the gig bolted and the vehicle capsized and rolled into the river. The occupants were thrown clear. Watts was brought to the hospital at 3 o'clock this morning.
Alfred R. AVinkworth, a roadman employed by the County Council, went into the river to liberate the horse, and was drowned.
