(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr. Drosdowski's house on tlie Mountain road was completely destroyed by 'ifire at about 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon. Nothing was saved except a chair and table. Mr. Drosdowski was away on the farm cutting blackberries at the time and Mrs. Drosdowski was engaged in cooking the dinner. The fire was caused by a sudden gust of wind carrying the embers out of the fireplace on to the floor. The insurances amount to about £l5O on the house, while the furniture was uncovered. Mr. J. W. TV infield is erecting a spacious new building. The buildings erected by Mr. Curtis are almost completed. I hear t-hat_ Mr. H. Cottier intends starting in business on his own account in Inglewood.
I Dr. Nutting, who has for some time been practicing in Inglewood, has disposed of his practice. The Inglewood Boy Scouts have now obtained their new uniforms and bear a smart soldierly appearance. The resolution of the Moa Dairy Co to pay out lOd per lb for the season was rescinded at Monday's meeting. The. suppliers at present get l' 0 ! A party of Inglewood enthusiasts journeyed to Tariki on Tuesday evening to attend a dance at that place.
