INGLEWOOD NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. For assaulting a Chinaman named John Chang a young man named George Brunnell was sentenced to a month's imprisonment. The defence was that the as-' sailant was drunk and did not know what he was doing. The W.Y.IIJ. Lawn Tennis Club open their season on Thursday. The following are the amounts to he pand out by the undermentioned factories: Xsf.iere, £1412; Lowgarth £1032; Cardiff, £9lO. The Stratford Racing Club will, on account of New Year's Day falling on a Sunday, hold their meeting on the Monday and Tuesday. Mr. C. .1. McKenzie left on a visit to Taumarumu and Ongarue to-day. A coalshed is being erected by the Railway Department at the 'Stratford station. Mr. J. A. Thompson, the well-known carrier, had the misfortune to lose a valuable half-draught mare to-day. The animal was found in a paddock with one of its legs broken, and had to be destroyed.
