At, ft, meeting oi thfe OtiLgd L&Sfl IfiS -1 His Association to-night, a motion was adopted agreeing to the principle of a paid secretary for the New Zealand Association, but expressing the opinion that the present time is inopportune and preferring the question of representation being first placed on a better footing. It was resolved that the Association's delegate to the annual meeting be instructed to move the above as an amendment to the proposal made by the management committee, and in the event of its being defeated, to move as a further amendment that the salary of the secretary should not exceed .£3O and should be paid by contributing associations on the basis of voting representation. It was further resolved that the New Zealand Association be written to, and informed that the Otago Union did not agree with the principle of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association secretary travelling to control the New Zealand championship when held in other places than Wellington. A letter was received from the New Zealand Association, asking if the Otago Association would put in a claim for the New Zealand championship, but it was decided to reply that the Association did not 'wish for a tournament, as the council had decided to hold it in Wellington.
