AMUSEMENTS
DOROTHY, All lovers of comic opera may look forward to a good performance of the evergreen and popular opera '"Dorothy" in the hands of the New Plymouth Operatic Society. Rehearsals are progressing most satisfactorily, principals and chorus all working well, and by the 3rd and 4tli of next month tliey should give a good account of themselves. Xo pains are being spared in the staging of the opera. Three beautiful stage sets have been painted by Mr. Will Diamond, and the dressing will j be on an elaborate scale. The dancing | under the capable direction of Mrs. Keith McAllum will be a special feature. The i orchestra, under Mr. Francis Cornwall, the Society's musical director, wi.l in-I elude many of New Plymouth's best instrumentalists.
