(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) j The annual meeting of the Waitara Rowing Club was held on Tuesday even-. ing, Mr. li. Tate occupying the chair. The balance-sheet and report were adopted, the chairman briefly expressing pleasure at the sound financial position Messrs. Lawson, Lehndorf, Western, Stoddart, McCormish, Houston, Grimmer, Pepperill, Murfitt, L. Old, A. Old, Jackson, A .Goodwin, Fulton, McDavitt, J. Telfar, E. Harding and A. Kerr were appointed members of the Club. Tht following officers were elected: —Patrci, Mr. G. V. Tate; president, Mr. R. Tate; vice-president, Messrs. S. G. Fraser, A. j Tutton, J. Telfar, A. Klenner, D. Hut-' chinson, W. Joll, H. Joll, B. C. Law-, rente, W. P. Snell, W. B. Jack, H. Chap- j pell, W. H. Nosworthy, J. B. Hoy; captain Mr. W. Telfar; vice-captain and custodian, Mr. L. Jennins; committee,! Messrs. A. Andrews, C. Burns, A. Drake, 1 L. Tate, G. Andrews, W. Dernhell and C. Old; selection committee, Messrs. R.' Tate, W. .Telfar and L. Jennins; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. H. Tate;' hon. auditor, Mr. W. Nosworthy. Subscriptions were fixed at 10s for seniors and 2s 6d for juniors. The committee are to meet shortly to arrange aboui ; the erection of a staging. The matter j of an opening day was left in the hands' of the committee. Votes of thanks to j outgoing officers, the chairman and CUf- 1 ton Rowing Club for the use of their hall for the meeting were carried by accla- _ mation.
A meeting of the committee appoint-j ed at the public meeting for the purpose j of selecting a fire brigade chose the fol-; lowing: —Central, Messrs. R. Ford, E.I Harding. A. Arms.H. Langman, A. Frost, H. Elliot; auxiliary, L. H. Sampson., East Ward, G. Bird, A. Bowen, F. Rich- j ards; auxiliary, B. Murgatroyd. West Ward: F. J. Brabant, A. Drake, C. Old; auxiliary, S. H. Mellor. His Worship the Mayor stated his intention of pre-| senting'the Brigade with a 30 foot ladder. Members of the Brigade are to! meet on Friday evening at the Borough' Chambers for the purpose of electing officers, etc. ' The New Plymouth Fire Board, who! so kindly offered to lend the Fire Bri- j gade some plant yesterday, advised that the Council could either have the use of it or purchase it. The price askeo was so verv reasomble that the Council decided to accept the offer. The North Taranaki Factory's returns for September show a great increase over the previous September, and are as follows: — 1{)00 1010 Increase |M'lk 330.048 493:247 102.600 Butter-fat . . - 9,758 19,736 9,978 'Butter ..... 22,157 14,119 8,038 | The average test was 41, and it took 22 5-22 lb. of milk to make a pound of butter. Waitara Factory returns for SeptemI ber are as follows, showing a comparison with September last year: — j 1909 1910 Increase Milk . ..... 103,728 501.596 337,868 Butter 23 - 278 6 ' 586 Butter-fat . . 14,083 19,807 5,124 It required 21 2-23 lb. of milk to make a pound of butter, the average test beino- 39.
