AUCKLAND v. OTAGO-SOUTHLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Saturday. The Auckland Northern Unio» team played a match against a team representing Otago and Southland to-day. TheTe were close on 2000 spectators present. Soon after the start, Walker (Otago) got over from a loose dribbling rush, 'McDermott failing with the kick at goal Nothing of "note occurred till Kean, the Auckland scrum half, got across and Dunning converted. McDermott next scored for Otago, and Hughes added the major points. Even play followed until Asher broke away from half-way, outpaced his opponents, and, scored under the posts. Dunming failed I with the kick. Before the close of the spell, Coulter scored for Otago, Johnston converting, and Nolan scored an unconverted try for Auckland, leaving the scores at half-time: Otago 13, Auckland 11. Im the second spell Auckland, with the wind, had things pretty well all their own way. Otago scored one more try, Hsurtridge getting over from a forward rush, McDermott converting. Five tries were scored for Auckland, the scorers being Kean (3), Bennett a>nd Kunming. Oo!e converted two tries. The I final scores were: Auckland 30, Otago and Southland 18.
