ADVANCES TO WORKERS. Tlie mimiber of applications for ltjans to workers during tlbe year ended March 31' last, according to the Year Book, was 2025, the aggregate amount required being £550,651. Thie advances actually granted during tihe year numbered 1359, for fin aggregate of £362,353. The number of loans on freehold tenure was 1172, and leasehold 187, the aggregate amount advanced being £332,773 freehold and £23,580 leasehold.
