HIGH SCHOOL.
The monthly meeting of the High School Board was held yesterday, when the following members wi-iv present: Messrs. MauDiarmkl Icliainnan), PercySmith, Glasgow and Dockrill. The winter report of Mr. Marchant on the Board's reserves was read, and showed the reserves to be generally in good condition, with the exception of one tenant, who was not giving .sufficient attention to the removal of blackberries. It was resolved that no further fees on transfer be collected. A satisfactory report on the school by Mr. Gill, Inspector of Schools, was read, and it was resolved that he be written to requesting him to make suggestions for the establishment of an agricultural course if possible. The question of a school holiday on Dominion Day was left in the hands of the chairman. The chairman reported that he had received a notification from the secretary of the Club that the balance of the funds of the Old Boys' Club had been placed in the (Savings Bank, the interest to be drawn annually and handed to the School Sports Committee. A preliminary report was made by the chairman on the cost of providing an asphalt tennis court for the girls, it being the opinion of the Board that this should foe provided as soon as possible, but a difficulty having arisen as to the site a further report could be made on thr matter. Accounts amounting to £1457 LBs were passed for payment.
