FIRES.
PALMERSTON BANK BURNED. By, Telegraph.—Press Association. TT . • Palmerson N., Friday. Ihe Union Bank of Australia in The Square was destroyed by fire shortly before 3 o clock this morning. The outbreak occurred in the kitchen, and spread rapidly, Mr. Barnicoat (the manager) and his family escaping in night attire. The strong-room was" not damaged, and the papers are all intact. The insurance on the Union Bank and contents was £1475, in the Alliance office.
