ISLANDS OF PROMISE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Port Darwin, September 14. An expedition which examined the islands off the north coast of Australia reported 1 that they contained plenty of permanent fresh water, a fair proportion of good soil, good timber, splendid grass in plentiful supply, ediible birds, and wild pigs. The islands were free from insect pests, and the climate was cool compared with that of the mainland. Evidence of native visits were few.
