GRAZIERS AND BUTCHERS
A MOVE THAT FAILED. By Telegraph.—Pres* Association. Dunedirf, Last Night. An agreement between graziers came into operation ast Wednesday, which was to the effect that graziers, when selling at Burnside Saleyards, would aot pay to butchers who bought their allele the half-value of the animal which should prove to be diseased when slaughtered. Immediately after the gradem had made the agreement the butchers did likewise, theirs being that they would give strong preference, when buying, to graziers who guaranteed their stock. The result was that unguaranteed stock did not .bring very high prices. This apparently frightened some of the smaller graziers, and they to-day "threw up the sponge" and gave the butchers a guarantee.
