Auckland, Wednesday. v Befofe the Supreme Court, James Alfrecl Lindsay, charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of Lewis Sheard, who was killed by injuries sustained by a fall in Wellington Street on August 8, was found not guilty and discharged. Accused stated 1 that deceased was improperly interfering with his little daughter. He , snatched her away from Sheard And pulled deceased over. In a cose in which a Waimate farmer claimed compensation from the Waimat'e County Council for hind 1 tpken for road, Mr. Hosking, K.C., asked an injunction against the action,as plaintiff and defendant Council had entered into an agreemet settling the whole matter. Mr. Kinnerney, for plaintiff, contended the agreement was not valid* and advanced, a numbej; of reasons ' * the injunction sought should not';, be granted. Decision was reserved. "" * .
