PIANO PLAYING RECORD. Mr. Stirton continued his piano-play-ing endurance test yesterday. It wa» reported during the morning that be was not likely to hold out, but the afternoon visitors saw him playing away as strong as ever, apparently revived by his brief excursion into the open air during tie morning on an express. Somewhere about midnight on Tuesday a eerefolding party took charge of the theatre, and an impromptu, concert was held, Mt. Stirton playing the accompaniments. , There were visitors until well on to midway between midnight and dawn, and others were along at the Theatre, at about 6 o'clock. Interest in the performance is increasing, not because people as a whole see any great merit in it, but 'because local folk are anxious that the , first man to make the attempt in New ' Plymouth to secure the world's thamI pionship for endurance as a pianist should succeed. Fromall accounts there [ will be a Ibig crowd at the Theatre Royal, | to-night to see tim pass 'tlio winning post.
