In his synodical address, Bishop Julius referred to the decision of the General Synod in favor of the New Wales system of religious education/and said 'that though the resolution of the General Synod ,did not necessarily represent the mind of the majority of the chui-ch people of Canterbury, yet, unless they were to remain for every ineffective in such matters, they must follow the lead.
