' There were heavy showers and heavy going. The fields were large but the total- ' isator turnover was ibelow the usual volume, the heavy going making punters ' wary. The racing was of good quality, and first favourites won four out of seven races. Results:— Flying Hack, six furlongs, 60 sovs.— Penza 9.1, 1; Prancer 7.6, 2; Tina Toa 8.12 3. Torpoint and Rangikura showed up in the first few strides, but Rangikura dropped back a little after a couple of furlongs, and thereafter, Rangikapua and Torpoint battled it o.wt.
