The Australasian Boxing Championships were opened to-night, the results being as follows: Feather-weight: Shields (Palmerston North) beat McLaughlin (Queensland) after a good fight. Reed (N.S.W.) beat Hegarty (Timaru), the holder, in the deciding round. Light-weights: Lacey (N.S.W.) beat Thomson (Auckland) on points. CHalloTan (Auckland) beat Simpson (Christchurch) on. points. Th<* juVes not being unanimous, the referee awarded the bout to CHalloram. Welter-weiglibsr Sihaiw (NjS.W.) boxed a bye with Turner. Watchorn (Palmerston North) defeated Olson (Auckland) after a willing contest. Heavy-weights: Doran (Victoria) defeated Savory (Auckland), who was evidently finished out in the second round. Pooley (Auckland) defeated' Nott (Queensland) after the best fight of the night. The finals in all classes! will be eontested to-morrow night.
