September 1 will in future be known as "Wattle Blossom Day" throughout Australia, with a view to promoting a national sentiment. The movement was started in favor of selecting some flower as a national emblem for wearing one day in each year, and wattle was selected because it is common in all parts of the Commonwealth. It was extensively •worn to-day, and many business places decorated, and many trees planted.
