IN DIVORCE
A LONG DRAWN OUT'CASE.
A DKCI M IvEN JUKOK. ! By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. After a hearing lasting ftp three days,' the divorce case, Frank Evans v. Fanny. Evans and Huntly Eliott, was concluded at the Supreme Court half an hour after midnight on Saturday. The jury failed to agree and a new trial was ordered in connection with this case. ! An adjournment had-to be made, on (Thursday afternoon owing to' onfe 01 the jurors being intoxicated. The next day the foreman of the jury apologised for tihe offender, and asked tjiat he be treated leniently. j • At the close of the case His Honour, Mr. Justice referred to this incident. He said he had been connected with courts of justice for over 40 years and had never known such din occurrence before. As the offender had been detained for a night in tlhe lockup, His Honour did not think the, dignity of the court required further re-* dress.
