BOISTEROUS WEATHER
VIOLENT HAILSTORM IN DUNEDIN.

Up till yesterday, fairly mild weather was experienced here, but about 5 o'clock last evening a sudden change] took place and heavy showers fell fori about half an hour. About 8 p.m. steady rain set in, with very low tem-j perature. This continued for some hoursj while snow fell on the high levels. The weather to-day is wintry. In the morning, heavy showers fell accompanied by thunder, and just after midday a violent hail storm raged for.some time. The weatlher now appears more settled, but [ the temperature is still very low. SNOW IN CANTERBURY. Christchurch, Last Night. After several spring-like days, the weather on Friday night changed suddenly and a cold snap, decidedly antarctic in severity, was experienced. Snow fell during the early morning on the Port Hills, and drizzling rain fell in t(h.e city during the morning and afternoon. Snow is also reported to have fallen in some of the country districts. The weather is now clearing, and the rain has ceased.
