STRATFORD DAY BY DAY.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. Stratford was practically deserted this afternoon, the rep. football match proving a source of attraction to the many enthusiasts. Mr. G. Rodda has been appointed pound-keeper. The local Druids Lodge held a very successful social last night. The Stratford Masonic Lodge intend holding a ball in a month's tiem, Mr. H. Wickman, of Ngaere, met with a nasty accident this week. He was standing by a cart, when the horse attached thereto became startled, and moved off, knocking Mr. Wickham down. The wheel of the cart passed over his head and arm, severely bruising them. There is some talk in football circles of a second meeting of the Waimate and Stratford teams, the gate to be devoted to the Bayly Memorial fund.
