SLIP ON THE MAIN TRUNK

TRAFFIC BLOCKED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taihape, Wednesday. A bad slip last night on the railway south of Utiku enveloped the "wild cat" which usually reaches here at midnight. The traffic is blocked, but mail passengers were transferred to a train on the other side of the slip at 11.41. It is expected it will take the best part of a day to clear the slip. The yards here are filled with trucks.

Mangaweka, Wednesday. The midnight goods train from Marton to' Taihape ran into a slip aear Mangaweka last night, throwing the engine off the line, smashing seveTi trucks, and leaving* them lying across the line. The express to Wellington was delayed an hour, passengers alighting and joining a new train on the other side.
