STRATFORD DAY BY DAY.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. Particulars of the injuries sustained by Woods, who was injured at the railway station last night, show that the upper muscles of the right thigh .ad been crushed and torn most severely, but the bone had escaped injury. An operation was performed at the hospital and Woods is making satisfactory progress.
Through a jar of sulphuric acid breaking Mr. J. L. Sheahan sustained several nasty burns. Some of the acid ran into his boot, burning the foot. The following will represent the Stratford Golf Club against Waitara tomorrow: F. N. Fussell, N. Black* F. P. Uniacke, W. Redder, F. W. Wake, H. L. Betts, A. Grant and Dr. Mwizu*, The monthly meeting of the local school committee was held last night Business of a routine nature wan transacted.
The annual meeting of the Stratford Retailers' Association takes place on Tuesday evening. The principal topic of conversation at present is the championship final to-mor-row. The chances of the respective teams are fully discussed ana cue papporters of the red and black jeiwjya are very sanguine of the prospecW of the team. It is to be regretted »that Tocker and Dixon will be absentees from the local team, their places being filled by Burgess and Collins. The abaumc of Dixon will greatly weaken the defence of the backs.
