AN AUCKLAND BANKRUPTCY
INVESTIGATION ADVISED. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Auckland, August 1.5. ' The adjourned meeting of creditors in the estate of Walter P. Darby, merchant, of Auckland, was held this afternoon, the Official Assignee (Mr. E.. Gerard) presiding. About forty creditors attended. The claims by creditors total about £13,500. The Assignee holds out hope of a dividend of lis 8d in the pound, perhaps a little more. At the previous meeting in May, Mr. Burton had. stated that the father of Darby had advanced £IOOO hard 1 cash to his brother, and that having regard to this, an investigation should ibe made into the balance-sheets signed by Mr. iStericker, which represented the business in a different light to what had since appeared. Since that meeting an investigation into the affairs of the estate has ibeen made by Mr. A. E. Warnoek, public accountant, whose report was submitted to to-day's meeting. The Assignee stated that he would submit the documents presented to the Crown Solicitor.
