GIRL BURGLAR SENTENCED. MALE BURGLAR DEALT WITH. By, Telegraph.—Pres3 Association. Last Night. At the Chriitehurch Supreme Court, Daisy Olive Moon, who pleaded guilty to a long series of thefts from dwellings, •was sent to the Salvation Army Home for two years. It was suggested that her crimes were due to reading pernicious literature.

J. Grose, who pleaded guilty -to sixteen charges of breaking and entering, was sentenced on each charge to two years in the reformatory prison at Invercargill, the sentences to be concurrent.

WELLINGTON SITTINGS. , Wellington, Monday. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court were held to-day by Mr. Justice Chapman, who said that the number of cases was not large and the character of the crimes not exceptional. On the whole lie had to congratulate the grand jury on the favourable state of affairs. It was satisfactory to find it was only necessary to present, twelve bills to the jury, including one for the theft of the "Leader" .picture from the Art Gallery. William Munroe was sentenced on several charges of forgery and uttering to two years' imprisonment in Invercargill Goal. DUN'EDIN SITTINGS. Dunedin, Monday. The following prisoners were sentenced this morning:—Arthur Mason, for breaking, entering and theft at Duntroon, admitted to probation; Horace Braithwaite, for breaking, entering and theft at Balclutha, admitted to probation; William John Newman, for breaking, entering and theft at Ditnedin, twelve months' hard labour; Gwymne Yates, for receiving stolen property, admitted to probation. At tlie Supreme Court to-day a young man named John Keen was charged with having committed a wilfully indecent act, with intent to assault a woman. Accused was found not guilty. Another charge of a similar nature against accused will be heard to-morrow.

FORGER SENTENCED. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court, Robert Stewart was found guilty of forging a telegram for money and a receipt for a money order telegram. He was sentenced to three years' hard labour.
