HUNTING.

The North Taranaki Hunt assembled [ at the Bell Block Hall on Thursday, and were entertained at lunch by Mr. and Mrs. Salway and ..Mr. and Mrs. Clin'. After lunch the Hunt were photographed, and photographs wore also taken of the pack with the Champion Cup won at the recent Napier Show. During the afternoon several short runs were experienced, but the scent was bad, and there was rather too much cover. Nevertheless, those following closely had a very enjoyable afternoon, with plenty of jumping. A great deal of country was covered, and the jumping was excellent throughout. The meet had been arranged to give members of the JDgmont - Wanganui Hunt an opportunity to .be present, but none of them attended. After the hunt the members were entertained at afternoon tea by their hosts of the luncheon table. In the evening a social was held in the Bell Block (Hall. It was largely attended, and was a most enjoyable affair. (Excellent music was provided by Mts. George's orchestra. During the evening the master, Mr. A. H. Halcombe, on behalf of the Hunt, presented Mr. W. (Rose, one of the first members, who is leaving for Auckland, with an oak and silver salad bowl, biscuit barrel and butter dish. The Hunt will meet next Thursday at Mr. F. Salway's, Bell Block, where an exhibition of jumping will be given.
