AMUSEMENTS.

"ALADDIN." Mr. J. C. Williamson's pantomime, "Aladdin," is to be staged for the first: and only time in New Plymouth on Monday night, August 22. If we may judge by its triumphs in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, "Aladdin" must certainly be remarkably attractive, as, although it commenced its career some weeks before Christmas last, it has been witnessed by crowded audiences ever since, and has succeeded in breaking alt the records established by "Mother Goose." "Jack and Jill" last year was generally regarded as being the most attractive specimen of this Kind of entertainment ever presented in New Zealand, but in "■Aladdin".Mr. Williamson is said to have exceeded all previous efforts in the production of a wealth of spectacular display. One of the greatest Matures in the prodmiion is said to ibe the performance of Messrs. Price and Revost. They astounded playgoers ot Melbourne and Sydney Ly 'iheir sensational and comedy feats. Mr. Williamson was also extreme!/ fortunate in getting hold of Mr. William Hassan, who is said! to be the best donkey performer we have yet seen. Some of the other features are "The Stupendous Hurnan Electric Fins." "The.Realistic i'lre Ballet," "The" Marvellous Balloon Effect." "The Beautiful Australian Bird Ballet,',' "Through the Nether Regions," "The Great Demon Incantation Sceno" and "The Resplendent March of the Flowers." The company include' Messrs. Harry Phydora, of "Mother Goose" renown, J, M. Campbell, who made himself so popular last year in "Jack and Jill,", Victor Loydall, Rupert Darroll, Civile Cook, Bert Watson, Edward Sutton, also Misses Marie Eaton, ,Eva Moore (sister of Miss Carrie Moore), Winnie 'Harbor,' Stella Selboiirne, Nance Maher and Lena Erieson.
