MINERS' CONGRESS
DISABILITIES CONSIDERED. By Cable.—Press Association.—Cnnyriflrht Received August 11, 9.30 p.m. Brussels, August 11. The Miners' Congress unanimously demanded a law fixing the minimum wage in proportion to the cost of living. The Congress discussed the length of the working day. The Belgian delegates proposed eight hours, to include the descent and ascent, the obligation to allow sixteen hours' rest daily. The Germans desired a provision for humid and high temperatured l mines of a maximum of six hours.
