FOOTBALL.

MATCH FOR NEXT THURSDAY. A football match is being arranged for next Thursday, to take place at Stratford, the proceeds to go towards the Bayly Memorial Scholarship Fund, between the Stratford team and a team selected from the rest of the clubs in the Northern Division. Setting on one side the very excellent proposal to which the funds will be devoted, one which should appeal to the player and to the nonsupporter of football alike, the match -will give young players an opportunity of coming prominently under the selectors' notice. There are many players in the northern district who should profit by -this opportunity, if not this season, in the coming one. The following team has been selected to represent the combined teams: Full-hack, Hill (Star); three-quarters, Tate (Clifton), Dive (Eltham), Potier (Eltham); .five-eighths, J. Stohr (Tulcapa) and S. Myno'tt (Tukakpa); half, Brown (Star); wing forward, D. Moir (Eltham); forwards, Osborne (Eltham), Bernstein (Clifton), Ward (Tukapfi), Loveridge (Clifton), Salter (Eltham), McAllum (Tukapa), J. Crowley (Clifton); emergencies, Charters (Eltham) and Brown (Inglewood). —Stratford correspondent.
