FIRES.
OTAKI RAILWAY STATION DESTROYED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. About 8.30 on Sunday morning the railway station and post office at Ofaaki were destroyed by fire. The blaze started in the post office, which was attached to the station. All the books and papers were removed undamaged, but the building, which was worth about £4OO, was entirely destroyed. Levin, Yesterday. (The cause of the fire is unknown. The refreshment rooms and sub-tele-graph office connected with the institution were also destroyed completely. All the outbuildings were saved. The lessee of the refreshment room, Mr. Hardie, was insured foT £75 in the United Office. He estimates his loss at £l5O additional.
