FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE.

The outbreak of foot and mouth disease is confined to a farm at Kirbymalzeard, where the authorities have ordered the slaughter of twenty-five cattle, nine sheep, and three pigs. The Department of Agriculture of Ireland has forbidden the importation from Britain of cattle, sheep, goats, and swine. CANADA TAKES ACTION. Received July 24, 5.5 p.m. Ottawa, July 23. In consequence of the outbreak of foot and mouth distase in England, Canada is prohibiting the importation of British cattle.
