THE PEA RIFLE AGAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hokitika, Last Night. A sad shooting fatality occurrea at Koiterangi yesterday evening. From the meagre particulars available it appears that a shooting party left a pea rifle behind a door at the residence of Mr. R. Harcourt. A son of his, about nine years of age, playfully snapped it off three or four times without result. A school mate. Rosy Norman, about the same age, approached the house. He pointed the firearm, with a jocular remark, and pulled the trigger. The cartridge took effect, and the bullet lodged in the breast of the girl. She rushed to Mrs. Harcourt. and fell into her arms, death being almost instantaneous.
