COOKS' AND WAITEWS* AWAPD. Wellington, Saturday. The Arbitration Court new award affecting Wellington Cooks' and Waiters' Union"was received to-day. P-uticaily the only difference from the rid jiward is a small increase in wages to lowerpaid hotel workers. Barmaids, barmen and billiard markers are brought under the scone of the award for the lirst time. The hours of work are not altered. The local union is extremely disappointed with the terms of the award. GABLE PvEPAIRINCx. Wellington, Saturday. The steamer Iris, which returned to Wellington to-day, successfully effected repairs to the break in the Eastern Extension Company's cable at a position about 200 miles from the. coast. The cable was raised from a depth Of 480 fathoms, and took seven days to repair, working day and night.
