WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD
At the monthly meeting of the above Board, there were present—Messrs. J. Connett (chairman), Messrs French, Turnbull and Surrey. Correspondence was read from Mr. Herrick re laying pipes across his property to oreelc to take surface water from Te Arei road, offering to pay half cost from same; ttrtd from Moa' Road Board, forwarding statement of loan ex-1 penditure on Davis road. Mr. Surrey reported that he had inspected the upper end of Everett road. Two 12in- pipe culverts were required, but nothing could be done until the summer.
The clerk was directed to inaform Mr. Herrick that the Board regret that they are unable to put down pipes as request-
A general rate of y 3 d in the £ was struck for the ensuing year, and special rates as usual for payment of interest on loans.
Surfaceman Giddy reported that he had been engaged during the past month in repairing the Te Arei road for five days and in Crowe's and Desaunai's pits getting metal with the other surfaceman.
Mr. C. Munro wished the Board to fence in the metal pit on his property Left with the chairman and Mr. Hall to arrange.
Repairs to metal on Cross road were authorised, also pipes for culvert at entrance to metal pit on Mr. Desaunai's property. The clerk was directed to request Mr. Montefiore to forward particulars as to trucks required for metal for repairs to Te Arei road.
Accounts were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
