THE SHEARERS' DISPUTE.
THE CANTERBURY CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The conference between the representatives of: the Canterbury sheepowners and the Canterbury Shearers' Union will be held here on Wednesday. Mr. Laracy, general secretary, states that he feels sure the Canterbury Union does not intend to withdraw anything in regard to price. Whatever the intentions of the union are in meeting the employers' union, thev would not shift from the demand for 20s per 100. Mr. Waddell, secretary of the Canterbury Union, states that the conference will discuss all matters, including the price. The union had its own opinion as to the worth of the work, but wanted to come to a settlement. The anion does not want things huns up in an unsatisfactory jondition. but wonts to give fanners and everyone a chance.
