The Civil List Committee recommends a, similar amount to that granted in the last reign, namely £47,000, with an increase of £13,000 for the younger members of the Royal Family. It is understood that the Civil List Committee proposes that King George shall not pay income tax, but shall defray the cost of the State visits of foreign monarchs. No provision is made for the Duke of Cornwall. The other Princes will receive an annuity each of £IO,OOO, which.after they have reached their majority will be raised to £15,000. The Princess upon her marriage receives £6OOO. / ' Mr. G. N. Barnes added a memorandum suggesting that the revenues of the duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall should be handed to the nation and treated as revenue for the settling of the Civil List.
