ATHLETICS.
OTAGO CENTRE. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. At to-night's meeting o fthe executive of the Otago centre of the New Zealand Athletic Union. Mr. Keast drew attention to a notice of motion to be brought before the annual meeting of the centre to the effect that the centre secede from the New Zealand Athletic Union and form a provincial union. The chief reason put forward for this step is that the Otago centre pays the New Zealand Athletic Union each year an average of £45, which, if the secession took place, could be divided in rotation among the Otago affiliated bodies, to provide championship events, and 30 foster sport in the province. ; ■ ■■::.'. , ■ i v.
